Q1 Capital works exclusively with private Canadian technology companies that:
- Have developed a proprietary or defensible technology, or utilize technology in a manner that establishes an exceptional competitive advantage;
- Have identified a quantifiable and significant “pain” that can be solved by the product/technology;
- Have both the management and technological expertise in place to successfully execute the business plan, or understands that the management team has one or two critical gaps and as part of the financing process will be looking to fill those positions;
- Have a Global or North American sales focus in a growing market;
- Have an in-depth understanding of the sector in which they compete and a sound strategy for capturing market share;
- Are capable of becoming the number one, two, or three player in the industry and can establish a sustainable advantage in their sector; and
- Have completed at least one round of financing (could be friends and family financing).
