November Is the Proverbial Turkey

Posted in Mike's Commentary

November turned out to be a real turkey with only two (yes, two) companies reporting new financings.  This is the lowest level of reported financings that we’ve seen since we began tracking transactions in November 2001.  Thankfully, December is looking to be a much better month with a reasonable amount of activity reported during the first three weeks of the month.  Despite the dismal level of reported activity, increased activity at some of the firms in town along with talk of tech IPOs in early 2010 all bode well for the coming year.

2009 has been an interesting year and certainly one that most will be happy to put behind them.  Our success and ability to weather the challenges would not be possible without the support of our clients and friends in the investment community who continue to show strong support for our firm.  As we move toward the close of 2009, we at Q1 Capital would like to wish all of our readers and friends good health and prosperity in the coming year and all the best for 2010.
