Cross border activity continued to slow in November as three Massachusetts’ private equity/venture capital firms each acquired an Ontario-based company.

Cross border activity slowed in October, and primarily consisted of U.S. venture firms targeting Ontario-based companies.  The largest cross border financing transaction involved Eloqua Corp. of Toronto, who secured $23 million from a consortium of investors based in California.

Several Canadian companies received large amounts of financing from U.S. and Canadian private equity/venture capital players.

Cross-boarder M&A deals were one-sided in August as U.S. firms acquired two Canadian software companies.  Also, several U.S. venture capital firms completed financing for Canadian companies.

While it was a light month in terms of cross-boarder M&A deals, several U.S. venture capital firms announced financing for Canadian companies.  Most notably were two Vancouver-based website companies that received funding from financiers south of the 49th.

U.S. PE financings for Canadian companies were light again this month.  Most U.S. activity consisted of the cross-border M&A deals that have typified the private equity landscape in the last few months.
